CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Brooklyn Bridge Centennial Celebration commemorative memorabilia. Copy of original 1883 medal on verso. Copper colored metal, set in cloth covered cardboard and then in plexiglass; small hole in medallion contains fragment (round) of original cable. Front side says, "Brooklyn Bridge Centennial" around edge of medal. Logo of bridge tower, stays and suspenders. Underneath "1883-1983." On black material beneath medallion: "Official Brooklyn Bridge Commemorative Medal." Printed on verso is the Brooklyn Bridge with fireworks and boats in water. "Opening of Brooklyn Bridge" and "May 24th, 1883" beneath. Enclosed in box is a certificate of authenticity no. 5536 and a plastic stand. Plexi case is oblong. Condition: some small abrasions on plexiglass.
