"CUR" at the beginning of an image file name means that the image was created by a curatorial staff member. These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
From "Korean Art Collection in the Brooklyn Museum" catalogue:
This dark grey, hard earthenware urn has a shiny surface and a bulbous silhouette. A jewel-shaped knob adorns the lid, which gracefully flares out. The urn itself has a straight mouth, a strongly accentuated shoulder, and a short, skirting base. Dotted half-circles and triangle motifs decorate the lid, while the body of the urn is covered with half-circle motifs.
Mortuary bowl and cover, with low foot which contracts slightly, spreading sides and mouth grooved to receive a cover. The cover is domed with a knob at top. Grayish brown coarse pottery, unglazed. Simple incised decoration of rows of circles, dots and lines with traces of earth still adhering. A piece is broken off the edge of the cover.
