Frequent Art Questions

  • Can you tell me more about Aage Sikker-Hansen?

I certainly can! Aage Sikker-Hansen was a popular Danish graphic artist. Sikker-Hansen first broke into the world of graphic arts by winning a poster design contest in 1930 for a Danish newspaper that subsequently hired him. His work was in demand throughout Denmark until his death in 1955.
The image of a mother and child was a subject that Sikker-Hansen returned to several times in his career. His work, which was influenced by Soviet art, has a very limited color palette and reductive lines.
