CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
A miniature chest-of-drawers in the late neoclassical style. Rectangular form with five horizontal drawers. Top of chest slides forward to reveal fixed drawer with two dividers. Dividers each scored and drilled with three small holes spaced perpendicularly an inch apart. Top, fixed, 'drawer' has serpentine tripartite front with a hole drilled in center of each section; proper right retains a bone collar or eyelet. The next drawer down has a convex/concave front, with no visible pull, a half-moon cutout in the bottom edge of the drawer acts as pull; three simple bottom drawers have paired round ceramic pulls in mottled brown Rockingham-style glaze. Raised on scrolling feet at front and simple wedge shaped feet at back.
CONDITION: Good, stable. Small chips to and cracks in the veneer, light surfaces scratches and dings throughout consistant with age and use. One interior drawer support has come off, now located in top movable drawer.
