"CUR" at the beginning of an image file name means that the image was created by a curatorial staff member. These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Upper half of a male figure with a bag wig. Plain back pillar to bottom of wig. Much reddish paint on face and body, and traces on negative space; no trace of color on wig or back pillar; top of a white kilt. Style is very bad but, especially given the early date of its acquisition, this is more likely due to its being an example of degenerate or provincial ancient work, rather than modern forgery.
