Catalogue Description: Dinner fork with four straight tines. Sides of the handle flare out gradually and undulate slightly towards the end that has rounded corners and a small semi-circular projection at the end. The first quarter of the handle is undecorated. The decoration begins with a wavy diagonal band followed by a flower with four petals and then a leafy frond in the diagonal. The balance of the handle is a classical clad female seen in profile with long tresses. Her left arm is extended downward and supports a shield-like cartouche that is engraved with the letter "A”. Her right arm is bent at the elbow and surrounded by a scrolling motif. The back is decorated with an incised line around the entire handle and one large flower with four petals at about the mid-point. Siren Pattern. The "A1" on the back stamp indicates that this is the best quality flatware produced by this company. 1847 Rogers Brothers, a division of Meriden Britannia Co, also produce this pattern. Condition: Very good; slight wear.
