Catalogue Description: Ceramic jar with painted decoration, flat base, and handles on either side. Around the top, is a procession of nine brown birds in profile on a cream-white ground. On the upper part of the body, on a red-orange ground are two pairs of painted creatures. One creature is an S-shaped serpent with two bird heads; the other is a figure with a head and fanged mouth, body lunging forward, arms bent, extended hands clenched, and hind legs in a running position. The body of the figure is painted gray at the top, gold in the middle, and dark red on the bottom. Also painted on each creature's body are fleur-de-lis designs. Circles divided by black lines float in the background. Condition: good; paint is abraded on one serpent and one section of rim; white label with number 548 on the base.
