Catalogue Description: Wooden snuff container in the form of a buffalo with horns close to the head that curve down and under. It is carved from a single piece of wood. Container is inlaid with white metal in an X-motif. A zigzag line through the metal exposing the wood on the interior surface further enhances the decorative quality of the inlay. A metal inlay of a circle with serrated edges is located in the rump as well as in the position of the anus. Opening and stopper for snuff is located at the forehead. The container is in fair and stable condition. Three sections of metal inlay are missing from the X-motif; the metal inlay located in the position of the anus is mostly missing. The tip of the proper left horn is broken off and missing.
