Catalogue Description:
Knife. Silver plate butter knife. Small oval projection at base of handle. Sides of handle flare gradually to rounded crest. Molded decoration begins on lower handle with small flower with two pairs of leaves below whose long stem is intersected by two narrow diagonals. Upper section of handle with continuous narrow border of tripartite leaf motif. Below crest large diagonal tripartite band with undecorated central area, zigzag border above and border of overlapping decorated disks below. In curve of crest above diagonal overall Oriental diaper pattern. Below diagonal, half-sun motif and waving plant stems with long leaves and small flowers against stippled ground. Reverse of handle with identical decoration. Irregularly shaped blade with long curve to sharpened side and scalloped contour opposite. Upper blade with outlined flower on leafy stem against stippled ground. Obverse of blade undecorated. Brilliant Pattern. Condition: Very good, plate bright, minor scratches due to normal wear.
