Catalogue Description:
Janus-faced Amulet head carved in tan stone with rawhide strip through holes at top. One face is female; the other is male. Female face has line forming a peak at forehead, modeled nose and eyes, and slits for eyebrows and mouth. Male face has straight line across forehead, modeled nose and eyes, and slit for eyebrows and mouth. Condition is excellent. Eskimo art tag has name of artist, 'Therese Ukaleannuk' and name of place made, 'Igloolik. The box from the Brooklyn Museum, where it was purchased, was included with the object.
