Catalogue Description: Eagle feather headdress with long trailer. Definitely Northern Plains even though the step design on the headband is very Cheyenne. This beautiful headdress is small and might have been for a youth. Built over a felt hat. Most of the feathers are still intact and looks like it wasn't worn very much. Anyone who wore these must earn the right. Today when students graduate from school they might wear their father's. Both Sioux and Cheyenne originated this style.
