Catalogue Description:
Tufted basketry cap. Tan raffia basketry cap, brown and tan shredded fiber knot at top of cap. Only other decoration is the dark brown bands from top to bottom that alternate with the beige weave. Technique is piled and plaited. Condition: good, tuft slightly crushed. Twisted fibers are strong and flexible with minimal shedding. Overall structure intact. Tuft of loose fibers are slightly stiff, dry and brittle; they will break if bent.
