Catalogue Description:
Black steatite female head preserved to base of neck. Conventionalized features, with face and neck polished. Hair indicated by incisions and dull surface. Of ears, only the lobes are indicated and they are pierced. Hair extends out on each side suggesting that head is from a statue of Venus Anadyomene. Condition: Nose chipped, otherwise intact.
