Catalogue Description:
Highly polished pewter flagon with hinged lid. From banded base with flat edge, cylindrical body rises and tapers to banded lip at top. Raised narrow band rings body about 2 1/2 inches up from bottom. Attached triangular spout with pulled mouth. Opposing attached handle in double S shape with ball terminal. Step-domed lid with urn-shaped finial fits over opening of flagon; scrolled thumb-piece is soldered to edge of lid then joined to hinge on top of handle. CONDITION: Good; allover spots of discoloration, light scratches and a few pit marks; spots of corrosion on interior bottom; bottom edge slightly bent on one side.
