Catalogue Description:
Plate, glazed earthenware, "tortoise-shell ware". Multicolored glaze consisting of splotches of green, brown, and yellow on cream ground. Plate with scalloped rim; entire surface is impressed with diaper work, leafy swags, and cartouches, with central circular area outlined with slight ridge, the disk-like central area being impressed with a basket-weave like pattern. The cartouches are outlined in green glaze; the leafy swags in yellow and green alternating with brown. Splotch in center is green and yellow. Condition: Good. Normal ware. A few surface scratches in glaze.
