Catalogue Description:
Bronze statuette of a cynocephalus ape seated on a palm capital. Horns and disk on head. Details of body incised. Conventional type, no inscription. It was necessary to reduce the corrosion down to the copper base and surface is now dark brown, but is totally free of disease. Front portion of capital missing. Base is incomplete. Possibly the object was a staff terminal. Condition: Object was badly diseased and heavily corroded. Results satisfactory.
