The Brooklyn Museum Announces Public Programs in November for Visitors of All Ages
A variety of programming welcomes community members to the Museum

The Brooklyn Museum announces its jam-packed lineup of November programming, including the Eighteenth Annual Brooklyn Children’s Book Fair, a Brooklyn Talks featuring conversations between artists and curators, and a dazzling
Dance Party to celebrate Solid Gold. Additional programs include classes, tours, and special events that amplify the Museum’s exhibitions and collections, serve the surrounding community, and support learning through the visual arts.

Brooklyn Pop-Up Market
Sundays, November 3–17, 10:30 am–5:30 pm

Free and open to the public.
Stop by our market to shop one-of-a-kind, handmade items from local artisans. This weekly event features more than 35 vendors offering artwork, jewelry, fashion, home and apothecary goods, and more.
Virtual Verbal Description Tour: The Brooklyn Artists Exhibition

Blind individuals and those with low vision are invited to experience The Brooklyn Artists Exhibition in a vivid, online verbal description tour. This dazzling exhibition unites more than 200 artists, highlighting the remarkable creativity and diversity of Brooklyn’s populace.
Salsa Party
Thursday, November 7, 6–9:30 pm

Free; registration is encouraged. Admission is limited and first come, first served.
Celebrate the art of salsa and join in our monthly dance-filled evenings hosted by Balmir Dance Society! Start the night with a class led by professional dancers at 6 pm, followed by live music, social dancing, and performances by Brooklyn’s best Latin dance teams.
Art and Yoga

Tickets are $20 and include Museum general admission.
Join yoga instructor Jenn Tardif for a morning of reflection, mindfulness, and movement. Following a quiet hour of yoga, open to all levels, head to Toward Joy: New Frameworks for American Art for in-gallery, self-guided meditation. Bring your own mat.
Eighteenth Annual Brooklyn Children’s Book Fair

Free and open to the public.
Calling all young book lovers! Meet more than 40 of your favorite Brooklyn authors and illustrators as they share their latest publications. This free event features storybooks, picture books, chapter books, and graphic novels—fiction and nonfiction—for preschoolers to middle schoolers. Throughout the day, children can chat with authors and illustrators, listen to readings and watch artists sketch, get books signed, meet a famous dog, and participate in book-related art projects.
Dance Party: Solid Gold
Thursday, November 14, 8–11 pm
Beaux-Arts Court, 3rd Floor, and Schapiro Wing and Cantor Gallery, 5th Floor
Advance tickets start at $30 and include admission to Solid Gold. Tickets at the door are $40.
Join us for a sparkling evening of live music, performance, and dance inspired by our special exhibition Solid Gold. Don’t miss sets by DJ Sha Savage and The Illustrious Blacks, a live set by Lollise, and a gold runway hosted by Spindarella and Civilization. Gold looks are encouraged!
ASL Tour: New Frameworks for American Art

Visitors from the D/deaf community are invited to experience Toward Joy: New Frameworks for American Art in an American Sign Language (ASL) tour led by a Deaf teaching artist.
This tour is designed for the d/Deaf community in ASL only, without voice interpretation. If you are an ASL student, email access@brooklynmuseum.org for more information about ASL student tours for those at level 3 or above.
Brooklyn Talks: Contemporary Artists in Practice

Tickets are $20 and include after-hours access to Toward Joy: New Frameworks for American Art and The Brooklyn Artists Exhibition.
Four contemporary artists, whose works were recently added to the collection, explore their practice in rapid-fire conversations with curators.
