Members in the Studio: Craftwork
Groundbreaker Members are invited to visit Craftwork , a multidisciplinary studio exploring the intersection of textiles and technology. Meet cofounders Victoria Manganiello and Nicole Yi Messier, learn about their process, and preview works in progress.
Nicole Yi Messier, a technologist, designer, and artist, creates expressive, soft, and tangible interfaces by blending digital technology and experimental craft techniques. Her work has been shown and exhibited internationally. Messier also teaches at NYU and Parsons School of Design and co-organizes an electronic textile camp with her Craftwork cofounder.
Victoria Manganiello, an artist, designer, organizer, and educator, creates installations, abstract paintings, and kinetic sculptures with handwoven textiles. She has received multiple international grants, awards, commissions, and residencies. Manganiello is also a part-time associate professor at NYU and the New School.
