Fermented Riviera: Coastal Wine and Mountain Cheese
Join us for the latest in our series of wine and cheese pairing classes, taught by sommelier and fromager Adrian Murcia in partnership with Brooklyn Fermented .
For centuries, summer travelers have flocked to the balmy Mediterranean coastline of southeast France and northwest Italy in search of salty air and sunshine. Beyond its sea of cheap rosé, in which travelers continue to drown themselves, the Riviera also boasts some stunning wines truly worth writing home about, including a number of head-turning reds from Provence. On the Italian side, crescent-shaped Liguria, a region still little known in the U.S., produces some of the most aromatically complex—and compulsively gulpable—white wines in the world.
And there’s also good news for cheese lovers. The agreeable climate of the Côte d’Azur and the Riviera Ligure is protected by the mountains embracing its coastline: the Alpes Maritimes and the Apennines of Italy, home to some of Europe’s finest artisanal cheeses. Join us for a tasting tour of the fermented Riviera, as we look for harmony between mountain pasture and coastal vineyard.
Tickets, which include Museum admission, can be purchased at brooklynfermented.com for $75. Space is limited to the first 30 registrants.
