These Films: Wherever You Go and Red Leaves

    In this two-part film series, taking place April 9 and June 5, see through the eyes of Israeli, Palestinian, and other international filmmakers to explore a wide range of lived experiences and dig deeper into the stories behind the places and people depicted in the exhibition This Place.

    Wherever You Go (Rony Sasson Angel, 2011, 40 min.)
    After cutting herself off from her Orthodox family, Zohara offers a ride to Neriman, a young Bedouin woman who is escaping an arranged marriage.

    Red Leaves (Bazi Gete, 2015, 83 min.)
    Celebrated as the first authentic portrayal of Israeli-Ethiopian life by an Ethiopian director from Israel, Red Leaves follows an aging protagonist who struggles to keep his children and grandchildren connected to the values and customs of his disappearing generation.

    Pop-up talks in This Place bookend the screenings at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
