Members enjoy flexible, untimed entry to the Museum, including ticketed exhibitions. Note that all Member tickets have a timestamp of 11 am but may be used for entry anytime during regular Museum hours (Wednesday–Sunday, 11 am–6 pm).

Do Members need to select a time slot for entry?

We know that flexibility is important! We’ve eliminated the need to select a time slot for your visit. Just choose the date and enjoy general admission and anytime entry to the ticketed exhibition of your choice. Galleries are cleared 15 minutes prior to closing. Find out more about our ticket policies.

How many Member tickets can I reserve?

Your Membership level determines how many complimentary tickets you are entitled to per visit, as outlined below. If you’d like to bring more guests than your Membership level allows, you can purchase additional full-price timed tickets when reserving or upgrade your Membership to a level that includes additional complimentary tickets. Please note that additional guest tickets cannot be purchased for Member Mornings.

  • Individual: 1 adult ticket per visit
  • Dual: 2 adult tickets and 4 child tickets per visit
  • Insider: 2 adult tickets and 4 child tickets per visit
  • Trendsetter: 4 adult tickets and 4 child tickets per visit
  • Groundbreaker: 6 adult tickets and 4 child tickets per visit

Your Membership must be current on the date of your visit in order to reserve your tickets. If your Membership expires before that date, you’ll need to renew your Membership before completing your reservation.

Do I need to book tickets in advance to visit the Museum?
We strongly encourage Members to reserve tickets in advance and skip the line at the Member Services Desk. A limited number of same-day tickets are available at Member Services on a first-come, first-served basis.

What happens when I arrive?

If you reserved a Member ticket online, make your way to the ticketed exhibition. A staff member will scan your ticket at the exhibition entrance.

If you reserved a General Admission ticket online, make your way to the Admissions Desk, where a staff member will scan your ticket. 

Are children required to have tickets to enter?

Yes. Everyone ages 4 and up must have a ticket to enter. If your child doesn’t have a ticket, you will be directed to the Member Services Desk.

All Members at the Dual level and above are entitled to 4 complimentary children’s tickets per visit.

I loved seeing an exhibition and want to return! How many times can Members visit a ticketed exhibition? 

As a Member, you’re welcome to visit any exhibition, including ticketed ones, as many times as you’d like, for free! 

Can I change my ticket date after I make my reservation?

Yes. Please email or with your name and new desired date. Exchange is based on availability.

Can I give my ticket to someone else?

Member tickets are nontransferable, so if you’re unable to attend, a friend or family member cannot use your complimentary tickets. If you cannot use your reserved tickets, email or call 718.501.6326 to cancel your order.

Tickets are sold out online, but I’m a Member. Are there additional tickets for Members?

We’ll have a limited number of same-day tickets available at the Member Services Desk on a first-come, first-served basis but can’t guarantee availability during peak times. Check out Member Mornings for additional spots on Saturday mornings!

How do I log in to my account to reserve tickets?

Members can log in to their account online by choosing the “Member Login” prompt and using the email address and password associated with their Membership.

To set up your account and password for the first time, select the “Forgot Your Password” prompt to receive an email confirming your account details.

Each Membership can be associated with only one email address, which is the login used to reserve Member tickets and access other discounts. This means that Memberships with two cardholders can only have one login email address. To update the email address associated with your Membership, email or call 718.501.6326 (Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm). Any changes to your login will take effect after one full business day.

I’m getting an error message on the ticketing site. What should I do?

If you’re a Member and experiencing an issue with your ticketing account, email or call 718.501.6326 (Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm).

When will I receive my Membership card and parking passes?
A digital Membership card will be emailed to you instantly, and you can use this card right away for free admission and discounts on shopping and dining. Your printed materials, including parking passes, will be mailed to you within 4 weeks of purchase. There is not a digital option for parking passes at this time.

How do I receive my Member discount, both in person and online?

Members receive a 20% discount on their first Shop purchase, and a 10% discount on every purchase after that. To use your discount online, enter your Member ID number (located on your Membership card) in the designated discount code field at checkout. To use your discount at the Shop, present your Membership card at checkout.

Members receive a 10% discount on all Museum dining. Simply present your Membership card to any Museum associate in our Café or The Norm upon payment. 

I’m a current Member. How can I change my name and/or address and continue to receive mail from the Museum?

May I designate a secondary Membership cardholder?

Yes. Starting at the Dual level, Members receive a second card in the name of the person of their choosing. For more information, visit our Membership page, call 718.501.6326, or email

Can I give a Membership as a gift?

Absolutely! Memberships make great birthday, graduation, wedding, anniversary, or holiday gifts for family, friends, or business associates.

How do I purchase a Gift Membership?

Gift Memberships can be purchased online, by calling 718.501.6326, or in person at the Member Services Desk. On the web, select the level and number of Memberships that you would like to give, and then click “Add Membership to Order” to enter your billing information. You do not need to enter any information for your gift recipient. If you would like a physical gift card to hand to your recipient, opt-in at the bottom of the page to receive one in the mail. Otherwise, you will receive a confirmation email with a redemption code and link that you can forward to your giftee. They can then use those details to set up their Brooklyn Museum Membership.
