Anastasia (Christine de Pisan group)

Anastasia, an artist known for her skill in manuscript illumination, is described by the medieval feminist writer Christine de Pisan in her famous work, The Book of the City of Ladies (1405), where she notes that Anastasia “is so well regarded that she is entrusted with finishing off even the most expensive and priceless of books. I know all this from my own experience as she has done some work for me which has ranked amongst the finest creations of the greatest masters.”
