Beatrix Galindo

b. 1474, Spain; d. 1534, Spain

Beatrix Galindo, nicknamed La Latina, was a professor at the University of Salamanca in Spain and taught literature, philosophy, and medicine. Known for her skill in Latin, she was appointed tutor to the children of Queen Isabella of Castile.
