The Lady Vanishes -- Again & Again
Marjorie Rosen, author of Popcorn Venus: Women, Movies, & the American Dream, discusses the disappearance of women as stars and subject matter from the silver screen. Using examples from popular cinema, Ms. Rosen explores what this change signified when it first occurred in the late 1960s and early 1970s, what it means now, and what, if anything, can be done about it.
