CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Compote or standing dish (a) with cover (b), colorless pressed polished and unpolished (acid frosted) glass, "Westward Ho!" pattern. The finial of the cover is an Indian holding a tomahawk kneeling on a round elevated base. Around the elevated base is a band of grass and tree stumps. This part of the cover as well as the side is acid frosted. On the side of the cover is a continuous molded high relief band of forested mountainous landscape with a log cabin, a running deer, and a bison in the foreground, and a sun in the background. Foot of the base has fluted decoration and a stem with angular knobs; the dish has a scalloped rim and a molded dental band.
Condition: Good. Manufacturer's flaws on bottom and on top of stem of dish and near figure on cover. Chips and scratches on rim of dish.
