LGBTQ+ Teen Night: (Dis)Respectfully Us

Friday, June 10, 2022

5–7:30 pm

Beaux-Arts Court, 3rd Floor

Brought to you by BkM Teens, LGBTQ+ Teen Nights are free inclusive events planned by and for LGBTQ+ teens and allies. Join us for our ninth annual LGBTQ+ Teen Night, featuring a range of art-making, performances, and other activities inspired by Andy Warhol: Revelation and Baseera Khan: I Am an Archive.

Schedule:

  • 5–6 pm Gallery activities and panel: Explore Baseera Khan and Andy Warhol and join Queer Art and Activism through the Ages with artists and organizers from ABLE, NYCLU, and GRIOT Circle, as they discuss the role of art in self-expression and documentation of queer history, moderated by BkM Teens.
  • 5:45–7:15 pm Art-making, community, and food: Enjoy delicious food, make a block-printed tote bag, create elaborate masks for our Photo Booth, check out resources from other LGBTQ+ community organizations, and more!
  • 6–7:30 pm Performances: Close out the evening with dancing and musical performances from Sol ChYld, Serena Tea, DJ Kami, and more, plus an open mic!

Follow #BKMTeens on Instagram and Facebook to learn more.

This program is free, but space is limited, and registration is required. Open to all youth ages 14–22. All participants must abide by our community agreements.

(Dis)Respectfully Us is organized by InterseXtions, our paid LGBTQ+ teen internship in queer art history and community programming.
