Teen Night: Teens Parkway

Friday, January 24, 2025

5–7:30 pm

Beaux-Arts Court, 3rd Floor; Great Hall, 1st Floor

Celebrate Brooklyn’s creativity and 14 years of the Brooklyn Museum’s Teen Nights, a teen-led program centered on art and activism! This evening will feature art-making, performances, and much more, all inspired by The Brooklyn Artists Exhibition, a major group show uniting more than 200 artists. Find it all at 200 Eastern Parkway—renamed Teens Parkway for this special night.

Schedule

  • 5–6 pm Sketching and panel discussion
Grab drawing supplies and sketch in The Brooklyn Artists Exhibition. Then, join artist Ruby Chishti and up-and-coming teen artist Jerome Foster for a viewing of Foster’s short film Get Fly or Die. Listen in as both artists share their creative processes and inspirations in a discussion moderated by BkM Teens.
  • 5:45–7:15 pm Art-making and food
Enjoy snacks, design your own MetroCard, create a street sign, check out teen organizations around the city, respond to our TalkBack Walls, and more.
  • 6–7:30 pm Performances
Close out the evening with performances by Urban Word’s poets, BRIEL the Artist, Big Steppa Lani, and DJ Synchro.

Free; registration is encouraged. Open to ages 14–19. Follow #bkmteens on Instagram and Facebook for more details.

Teen Night is organized by the Teen Night Planning Committee, our paid teen internship in public programming.
