Roundtable Discussion: "Gender and Sexuality in the Harlem Renaissance"

    In connection with the exhibitions Youth and Beauty: Art of the American Twenties  and HIDE/SEEK: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture , curator Teresa Carbone , cultural historian Thomas H. Wirth, and art historian Dr.​ James Smalls  explore the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality in the Harlem Renaissance, taking cues from work by Richard Bruce Nugent  and Langston Hughes. A curator-led tour of the exhibitions and a reading by writer and artist Pamela Jackson of a short story by Nugent will also be included.
