Teen Movie Night: Waste Land

Friday, December 18, 2015, 5–8 pm

Inspired by El Anatsui’s Black Block (2010), this Teen Movie Night features Waste Land (Lucy Walker, 2010, 99 min.), a film that questions the connotation we give to waste. The documentary follows renowned artist Vik Muniz as he journeys from his home base in Brooklyn to the world's largest garbage dump, located in his native Brazil, revealing the transformative power of art and the alchemy of the human spirit.

Planned by teens, for teens. Teen Movie Nights are free evening events to watch fun, thought-provoking, engaging, humorous, creative, and inspiring films with your friends. Every Teen Movie Night our teen curators show a special film program inspired by a work of art or a special exhibition or collection, feature a gallery activity, present a talkback, and provide refreshments. For teens 13 and over.
