Tour: Five Moments of Art and Scent SOLD OUT

Encounter our collections in a new way with a “show and smell” tour that brings histories of art and fragrance together, guided by Jessica Murphy, fragrance culture writer, educator, and Manager of Visitor Engagement. We’ll make five stops in the galleries, sampling specific fragrance notes and considering questions such as: How long have people been making and using aromatic mixtures? Would a Renaissance noblewoman have worn fragrance? What made some perfumes “modern” in the late nineteenth century? This multisensory tour connects our global galleries at the intersections of scent, social history, and the visual arts.
