Dance: Recasting The Body in Bronze

Saturday, March 31, 2018, 2–3 pm

In the second of our two-part series , Fana Fraser, in collaboration with Martell Ruffin, presents Belly of the Beast, a work in process inspired by Rodin at the Brooklyn Museum: The Body in Bronze. Mirroring the emotional complexity of Rodin’s sculptures, Belly of the Beast creates a labyrinth where scrambled objects and hidden desires are grounded by a driving score. Fraser is Rehearsal Director for repertory dance ensemble Ailey II, where she and Ruffin have worked together for the past year.

Tickets are $10 and include Museum general admission (purchase tickets for David Bowie is separately). Members receive complimentary tickets. To receive the Member code, email membership@brooklynmuseum.org  with your full name and Membership ID. Not a Member? Join today!
