Teen Night: Art of Healing

Friday, April 29, 2022, 5–7:30 pm

Join us for another in-person Teen Night, our teen-led program centered on art and activism! In April, we’ll highlight a range of art-making, performances, and other activities inspired by Baseera Khan: I Am an Archive and Guadalupe Maravilla: Tierra Blanca Joven.

    Schedule:

    • 5–6 pm Gallery activities and panel: Explore Baseera Khan and Guadalupe Maravilla and join “What Is Healing? A Community Discussion” with artists and healers Charlie L’Strange and The Brooklyn Bruja, as they share their experiences and practices around healing, moderated by BkM Teens.

    • 5:45–7:15 pm Art-making and food: Enjoy food, create a mood board, decorate your own chakra candles, take cute photos in our Photo Booth, and more!

    • 6–7:30 pm Performances: Close out the evening with musical performances from SHAMIQUA, UPTWN, DJ SYNCHRO, and more, plus an open mic!

Follow #BKMTeens on Instagram  or Facebook  to learn more.

This program is free, but space is limited, and registration is required. Open to all youth ages 14–22. All participants must abide by our community agreements. Teen Night is organized by the Teen Night Planning Committee, our paid teen internship in public programming.
