CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Highly polished pewter flagon with hinged lid. From banded base with flat edge, cylindrical body rises and tapers to banded lip at top. Raised narrow band rings body about 2 1/2 inches up from bottom. Attached triangular spout with pulled mouth. Opposing attached handle in double S shape with ball terminal. Step-domed lid with urn-shaped finial fits over opening of flagon; scrolled thumb-piece is soldered to edge of lid then joined to hinge on top of handle. CONDITION: Good; allover spots of discoloration, light scratches and a few pit marks; spots of corrosion on interior bottom; bottom edge slightly bent on one side.
