Fall Teacher Institute: Art! Integration! Expression! Museum Learning for the Classroom

Saturday, October 18, 2014

9 am–4 pm

Brooklyn Museum,

Explore the world inside the Museum during our six-day course for K–12 educators. Take part in exciting, interactive, object-based activities that will help your students learn about social studies and the arts. Practice and reflect on dynamic teaching strategies designed to help students analyze, interpret, and create works of art. Our techniques are great for differentiated learning needs, and support the New York City Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts (Visual Arts) and Common Core Learning Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy. Leave with knowledge of our collections and resources, an ability to adapt them for the classroom, and an appreciation for the many creative learning possibilities our Museum offers.

Course Dates: Saturdays, October 18 & 25, November 8 & 22, December 6 & 13

Course Type: P Credit (3 credits)

Course Fee: $375 ($125 After School Professional Development Program registration fee included)
