Art History Happy Hour: The Obama Portraits Tour SOLD OUT

Treat yourself to a curator talk and wine pairings inspired by The Obama Portraits Tour. Hear from scholar and former curatorial assistant Joseph Shaikewitz and Eugenie Tsai, John and Barbara Vogelstein Senior Curator, Contemporary Art, and enjoy a tasting hosted by wine expert Marquis Williams of Highly Recommended, a Brooklyn-based members-only wine club. Delve into the history of presidential portraiture and explore the ways in which artists Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald paid homage to and broke from tradition in their portrayals of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Then, visit the galleries for an exclusive after-hours viewing of the portraits.

Tickets are $45 and include four wine tastings, small bites, and special after-hours Museum admission to The Obama Portraits Tour. Additional wine is available for purchase. Member tickets are $40. Not a Member? Join today!
