Virtual Member Coffee Chat: Land Acknowledgment
Wednesday, April 21, 2021
12–12:45 pm
Online
Join a conversation about how and why the Brooklyn Museum worked with Lenape and Delaware representatives to create a Land Acknowledgment recognizing our location on Lenapehoking—the ancestral homeland of the Lenape (Delaware) people. Nancy Rosoff, Andrew W. Mellon Senior Curator, Arts of the Americas, and Erika Umali, Assistant Curator of Collections, highlight Delaware objects in our collection, and invite you to virtually experience our Welcome to Lenapehoking installation. Afterward, participate in a live Q&A with the curators.
Our new virtual Coffee Chat series gives Members a chance to take a break during the day to engage with ideas, concepts, and art that reflect the Museum’s vision of sharing great art and courageous conversations.
Free for Members, but registration is required. Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive a secure Zoom link and password by email. Questions? Email membership@brooklynmuseum.org or call 718.501.6326.
