Evening for Educators: Revisit the Collection, Renew Your Practice

Thursday, May 12, 2016

4–7 pm

Meet in the Rubin Lobby, 1st Floor

Honor your year of hard work with an evening of festivities at the Brooklyn Museum. Join fellow educators in celebrating our revitalized permanent collection galleries with talks, art-making, and new teaching ideas from our Education team.

Mingle with colleagues over wine and small bites. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look from our curators and reinvigorate your teaching practice with our museum educators. Get inspired through hands-on art activities and explore our newly reinstalled American, European, and Egyptian galleries.

This evening also includes a special film screening of PS DANCE!, an Emmy-nominated documentary that captures what happens when New York City students have dance in their curriculum. In these studios, dance is for every child and their journey is one of imagination, curiosity, hard work, and discipline. Narrated by veteran TV journalist Paula Zahn. Followed by a discussion and Q&A led by Executive Producer Jody Gottfried Arnhold.

As a gift to participants, we are offering priority booking of gallery visits for the 2016–2017 school year and free take-home teaching materials. All educators are welcome and receive a 10% discount in the Museum Shop with an educator ID.

We will be open late and encourage you to stay after the program and extend your time with art.

Please RSVP online or by phone at 718.501.6230.
