The Gallery/Studio Program offers fun, challenging studio art courses. Be inspired by professional teaching artists and spend time discussing artworks from our exhibitions, learn new skills and techniques, and create your own art using both new and traditional materials. Classes are available for children, teens, and adults. All levels of experience welcome!
Fall 2021 courses
Drawing and Painting: The Color of Change
Sundays, 1:30–3:30 pm
Use the lens of contemporary art to engage in conversations about racial equity. Learn new techniques in color theory, underpainting, and paint mixing in order to paint portraits across a spectrum of hues. Find inspiration in The Obama Portraits and continue crafting your own distinct artistic style.

Saturdays: October 2–December 11 (no class November 27)
Sundays: October 3–December 12 (no class November 28)
All classes are two hours long.

Scholarships are available for all youth and teen classes. Completed applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. After applying, you'll be notified by email if you are eligible for discounted registration.
Work-Study: Art and Healing
Check out our work-study program! This paid internship allows teens an opportunity to assist in an art class while taking a class of their own and learning about careers in museums.
Parking is available for Gallery/Studio Program students and families. After the free 15-minute drop-off period, the hourly rate applies.
