Teens: Studio Art Program

The Studio Art Program—formerly known as the Gallery/Studio Program—offers fun and challenging art-making classes for ages 6 to 96. Be inspired by professional teaching artists, discuss artworks in our exhibitions and collections, develop skills and techniques, and create your own art using new and traditional materials. Each semester ends with a student exhibition in our Education Gallery!

All levels of experience are welcome.

See our teen programs below. We also offer classes for kids and adults. Questions? Email us at studio.art@brooklynmuseum.org.

Registration is now open for fall 2024.

Scholarships are available for all teen classes on a first-come, first-served basis. After applying, you’ll be notified by email if you are eligible for discounted registration.

Drawing and Painting: Art and Revolution
Saturdays, 1:30–3:30 pm

Fine tune your skills with pencils and brushes in this class dedicated to art’s ability to change the world. Witness the influential works of Elizabeth Catlett and see how artists lend their skills to social movements. Use color theory, composition, and brushstrokes to find your artistic voice, then create art that demonstrates your vision for a better world.
