Teens: Studio Art Program

The Studio Art Program—formerly known as the Gallery/Studio Program—offers fun and challenging art-making classes for ages 6 to 96. Be inspired by professional teaching artists, discuss artworks in our exhibitions and collections, develop skills and techniques, and create your own art using new and traditional materials. Each semester ends with a student exhibition in our Education Gallery!

All levels of experience are welcome.

See our teen programs below. We also offer classes for kids and adults. Questions? Email us at studio.art@brooklynmuseum.org.

Registration for spring 2024 is closed. Check back in August to register for our fall semester.

Saturdays: March 2–May 18 (no class March 30 or May 11)
10 classes: $310; Members: $279 (join today!)

Scholarships are available for all teen classes on a first-come, first-served basis. After applying, you’ll be notified by email if you are eligible for discounted registration.

Painting and Mixed Media: Beyond the Brush
Saturdays, 1:30–3:30 pm

Take your painting skills to the next level and explore techniques that add texture and embellishments to your art. Learn the basics of painting with acrylics, then experiment with paint markers and oil sticks in brush-free paintings. See how artists in Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys choose materials that add special meaning to their work, and create paintings with your own message to the world.

On-site parking is available in the lot behind the Museum, off Washington Avenue. After the free 15-minute drop-off period, the hourly rate applies.
