The Gallery/Studio Program offers fun and challenging studio art courses. Be inspired and guided by professional teaching artists and create your own art with new and traditional materials. All levels of experience welcome!
Fall 2019 Courses
Mixed Media: Activists and Influencers
Saturdays, 1:30–3:30 pm
Fuse art, fashion, and protest while designing pins, photo zines, and banners that make bold statements about how you view the world. Visit Nobody Promised You Tomorrow: Art 50 Years After Stonewall, learn about the work of activist Marsha P. Johnson, and find new ways to fight for your cause.
Painting: Revolt and Desire
Sundays, 1:30–3:30 pm
Explore Nobody Promised You Tomorrow to see how artist Felipe Baeza makes paintings caught between loving embrace and powerful resistance. Study color, composition, and mark-making techniques as you develop your skills and artistic voice.

All classes are two hours long.

Check out our work-study program! In exchange for a free course, work-study teens assist in a class, work with students on a one-to-one basis, prep supplies, and support a great learning environment. Apply by September 5.
Scholarships are available for all youth and teen classes. Completed applications may be submitted to the Museum in person or by mail, and must be received by September 5.
Parking is available for Gallery/Studio Program students and families. After the free 15-minute drop-off period, the hourly rate applies.
