"CUR" at the beginning of an image file name means that the image was created by a curatorial staff member. These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
Flared, paneled foot of octagonal form supports octagonal basin. A band of eight quatrefoils set into panels, flanked by elongated gothic-style niches encircles lower portion of pitcher. Eight elongated panels surmount this band with gothic arches topped by applied foliate pinnacles, which rise over shoulder and rest on neck. Bracket handle is applied to molded lip of piece and shoulder of basin. Handle has grotesque bearded mask in relief.
Condition: Good with some tarnish milky color film along handle and rim of pitcher.
